Where to Get Kratom Powder by the Kilo on Long Island

If you go through kratom at home, buying a few ounces at a time adds up. A lot of people on Long Island end up looking for a kilo instead. The problem is that most local shops only carry small bags, and a lot of online sellers are a long wait away. Here is where to get kratom by the kilo on the Island, what it costs at our shop, and a few things to check before you stock up.

Roots Kava Bar in Port Jefferson

We are Roots Kava Bar at 250 East Main Street in Port Jefferson, on the North Shore in Suffolk County. Most people know us as a kava bar, and we serve kratom tea at the bar too. We also keep kratom on the shelf in bulk sizes, so you can walk in and leave with a kilo.

What we carry by the kilo

Our kratom powder is plain leaf powder in red, white and green vein Maeng Da. It is dried Mitragyna speciosa leaf, ground fine, with nothing added. Every color is sold in these sizes:

• 1 oz: $6.49

• 2 oz: $11.99

• 4 oz: $14.49

• 8 oz: $27.99

• 1 pound: $36.99

• 1 kilo: $51.99

• 2 kilos: $99.99

• 5 kilos: $244.99

Red, white and green are the same price at every size, so you can mix colors without paying more. A kilo is about 2.2 pounds, so the kilo bag works out to a lower price per ounce than the smaller bags.

If you brew tea and want a cleaner cup, we also have white kratom crushed leaf from 1 oz up to 5 kilos. It is the same leaf in flakes instead of powder.

What about extract by the kilo?

We also sell MIT extracts in bulk, up to 5 kilos: the 70% mitragynine freebase extract, the 70% mitragynine salt extract and the 85% mitragynine extract. These are concentrated and priced per gram, so they are a very different buy from leaf powder. They are made for experienced users and for shops. If you just want kratom for tea, the leaf is what you want.

What to check before buying kratom in bulk

A kilo is a lot of product. A few simple checks save you a headache.

• Know what you are getting. Leaf powder and extract are not the same thing. Make sure the label says plain leaf if that is what you want.

• Check the vein color. Red, white and green Maeng Da each taste a little different. If you are not sure, buy an ounce of each first, then go big on the one you like.

• Look at storage. Kratom keeps best sealed, cool and dry, out of the sun. Split a kilo into smaller jars or bags so you are not opening the big bag every day.

• Buy local when you can. Picking it up means you see the bag, you can ask questions, and you do not wait on shipping.

• Watch the age rules. In Suffolk County kratom is for adults 21 and older.
